Summary

In January 1953, a jet pilot and three tower operators in Georgia observed an unusual aerial phenomenon. The pilot, traveling at 300 mph, saw a bright object that changed shape and color over 17 minutes. Initially white, it turned orange and back repeatedly. In the last 15 seconds, it transformed into a red triangle that split into two overlapping triangles before vanishing. Tower operators confirmed via radar the presence of three targets, one stationary and two moving, at 300 degrees. Despite clear weather, there was no trail or sound. The Air Force concluded it was not Venus or a weather balloon, but could not identify the phenomenon.

Weather data and testimonies agree that the object maintained a fixed position relative to the aircraft, suggesting a non-aerodynamic nature. The lack of photos or physical evidence complicates classification, but the official report labels it "unidentified." This case, part of Project Blue Book, remains one of the most intriguing from the 1950s.
