🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In February 1953, a military pilot reported a formation of lights changing colors while flying near Terre Haute, Indiana. The lights shifted from red to blue, passing through green and yellow, and moved in a manner similar to conventional aircraft. The pilot estimated their altitude to be between 15,000 and 30,000 feet. Although the observing aircraft was 100 miles from St. Louis, it was suggested that the lights might have been reflections of commercial or military planes departing from that city. However, the report did not rule out the possibility of an unidentified phenomenon.
The official investigation concluded there was no physical or photographic evidence to support the report. Despite multiple checks, no definitive explanation was found for the phenomenon. The case was closed without resolution, leaving open the possibility that it was an unidentified flying object.
