🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A red and white glowing object was observed for 15 minutes at Dobbins AFB, Georgia, on February 8, 1953. Air defense personnel saw it moving east to west before it disappeared below the horizon. The sighting was confirmed from Knoxville, Tennessee, with no reported air traffic in the area. The base concluded it was likely a bright star, such as Jupiter.
The report notes that no triangulation was made between the two observation points, which would have been helpful for confirmation. However, the description and manner of disappearance resembled previous astronomical sightings. Despite clear skies and no air traffic, the phenomenon was documented and generated interest at the air base.
