Summary

In February 1953, three men in Iceland observed an unknown light moving south. The object, seen for about 10 minutes, flickered and changed intensity, but its altitude, speed, or color were not reported. Although no photos or physical evidence were taken, the report noted that such sightings were common in the region. Witnesses could not identify the phenomenon, sparking interest among air defense authorities.

The officer in charge of the report mentioned that many similar sightings appeared in local newspapers with delays, making official registration difficult. However, with the addition of a full-time translator, it was expected that future reports would be documented more efficiently. The case was considered unusual but did not lead to a clear identification of the observed phenomenon.
