Summary

In February 1953, U.S. Marine Sergeant John Muciek observed an object resembling a falling star near the Cho-do base in North Korea. The object traveled in a straight line at an unknown altitude and displayed a steady white light similar to a star. As it approached a specific location, the object suddenly stopped and began moving back and forth. The light then turned red and alternated between red and white every three seconds. Muciek called Corporal Hubert Hicks, who also witnessed the phenomenon. The object remained stationary in the sky and eventually moved southwest.

The report notes that both witnesses heard no sound during the observation, making it unlikely to be a conventional aircraft. Additionally, a local officer, Major Pak, mentioned seeing a flying saucer with similar phenomena. The object's ability to stop abruptly, change colors, and remain silent suggests it was not a propeller-driven aircraft. This case is included in a declassified air intelligence report shared with other units for analysis.
