In February 1953, multiple military observers at Dover AFB, Delaware, reported a luminous object in the horizon. The phenomenon lasted 15 minutes and displayed color changes between red, white, yellow, and green, with no clear pattern. Despite detailed descriptions, there was no noise, smoke, or vapor associated with it. Observers, including base personnel, agreed on the object's location and behavior.
The official conclusion attributed the sighting to the planet Venus, supported by a consulted astronomer. However, the testimonies suggest an unusual visual experience that sparked debate among witnesses. Although there was no military response, the case was recorded in multiple reports and documents from the time. The clear sky and lack of air traffic reinforced the need for an astronomical explanation, though it did not eliminate the mystery for those who saw it.
