🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A civilian in Bay City, Michigan, reported in 1953 having observed an oval-shaped object with a greenish hue at night. The incident occurred while the witness was in his room, looking out the window. The object appeared suddenly and moved westward, tracing an arc of 20 degrees in just 4 seconds. Although the witness heard no sound, he noted that the object had a fuzzy edge, similar to a meteor. The official conclusion attributed the phenomenon to a meteor, as the sky was hazy and the object's movement resembled that of one.
The witness, a 38-year-old man with college education and military training, described the object as larger than Venus and smaller than the moon. Its elliptical shape and fluorescent color gave it an unusual appearance. Despite the report classifying it as a meteor, the detailed description and precise observations from the witness raise questions about whether it could have been a different phenomenon. The report includes room diagrams and measurements that help understand the observer's perspective.
