Summary

In March 1953, a military pilot observed an unidentified object near Mt Taylor, New Mexico. The object was described as circular, the size of a pea, and glowing with a bright orange color that did not change. It moved at a speed of 800 knots, performing three rapid rolls before disappearing. The pilot quickly descended to close the distance but failed to catch up. The sighting lasted four minutes, with the object observed between 28,000 and 30,000 feet. The report concluded it was neither a balloon nor a conventional aircraft.

The object left no trail or visible emissions and its aerial behavior didn't match known patterns. The pilot, experienced and considered reliable, was certain it was not a balloon. Another pilot also observed it from a different direction and noted a color change from orange to green. Despite efforts to close in, the object remained out of reach. This case remains one of many unresolved mysteries in the history of UFO sightings.
