Summary

In March 1953, a witness in Spooner, Wisconsin, observed a circular aluminum-colored object that appeared half the size of the moon. The object was moving at high speed and altitude, making two sharp turns before disappearing northward. The observers, who had no experience in aircraft recognition, agreed that no known aircraft could perform such maneuvers in just 15 seconds. The object was described as a flat, bright disc, and no photographs or physical evidence were collected. The official conclusion was that the object remained unidentified.

The report notes that the observer was installing an antenna when the object appeared, and the weather was clear. Although a similar sighting in 1938 was mentioned, no direct connection was found. The speed and unusual movements of the object raised questions about its identity, with possibilities like Venus or a mirage considered but not fully explaining the phenomenon. The case remains one of the most intriguing from the 1950s.
