🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In March 1953, several military personnel from the 775th Aircraft Control and Warning Squadron in Cambria, California, observed a reddish-orange spherical object in the sky. The first report came from T/Sgt Brunges, who noticed an object swaying like it was attached to a balloon. The object, initially the size of a dime, moved northwest and gradually shrank. Other airmen, including Ronald Haag and Howard Potter, confirmed the sighting, describing erratic movement without visible trail. Despite a 35-minute observation, there was no physical or radar evidence of the object.
The official conclusion attributed the phenomenon to an astronomical object, possibly Venus, whose size and color changed due to perspective and haze. However, witnesses insisted it wasn't a star, as it moved and shrank. The official explanation didn't convince everyone, and the case remains a mystery to those who experienced it.
