🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A civilian observer in Webster Village, Maryland, reported a white and gray "V"-shaped object that remained stationary in the sky for 36 minutes on April 5, 1953. The witness, Patrick Lynch, described the object as motionless, silent, and without visible exhaust or vapor trails. Despite scrambling fighter jets to the area, the object could not be located. Weather conditions were cloudy with limited visibility, complicating the observation.
The official investigation concluded there was insufficient data to evaluate the case. It was suggested the object might have been the North Star reflected off clouds, though no details on brightness or behavior were recorded. The report lacked physical evidence or photographs, relying solely on visual observation. Like many cases from that era, this one was filed without a conclusive explanation, leaving questions about the nature of the phenomenon unresolved.
