Summary

In May 1953, a civilian employee at the Inyokern Air Base in California reported seeing three white objects overhead. They appeared at 1:10 PM and quickly disappeared to the northeast, estimated to be at around 25,000 feet. The objects were described as round and balloon-like with strings hanging down. Although several civilians also observed them, no photographs were taken and no attempt at interception was made. The lack of details about propulsion or exhaust fueled uncertainty.

The report suggested the objects could be high-altitude research balloons known as "Moby Dick." Project Blue Book, the program responsible for investigating UFO sightings, had access to data on balloons launched in the area. However, the lack of concrete information in the original report made a definitive evaluation difficult. Ultimately, it was concluded that they were likely balloons, but the case remains one with some mystery.
