🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In June 1953, a witness in Texas observed three bright objects with glowing tails traveling at high speed. Two were heading south, but one made a 180-degree turn and went north. The estimated speed was 2000 mph at 60,000 feet, which caused confusion. A contracted astronomer concluded they might be jet afterburners, though inconsistencies in duration and speed didn’t fully align.
The observation was visual and lasted 2 to 3 minutes. The witness, an aircraft mechanic, appeared conscientious and reliable. Authorities considered the possibility of weather balloons, but the data didn’t match. Despite investigations, the case had no clear explanation and was filed as unresolved.
