🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In June 1953, two U.S. Navy officers reported seeing a green light near Guam while flying at 9,000 feet. They observed a luminous object descending vertically into the ocean, lighting up the surrounding area. One pilot described it as faster than a flare and slower than a meteor. The light disappeared into the sea without leaving physical evidence.
The official conclusion was that it was a fragment of a meteor burning up in the atmosphere. Although the pilots had no doubts about its nature, the report noted no other sightings or distress signals in the area at that time. Like many other cases, this one was classified and remained in military archives until its declassification decades later.
