🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In June 1953, a witness in Norwood, Ohio reported seeing a round, bright object moving across the sky. The object first appeared heading north, then stopped directly overhead before disappearing behind a cloud at about 5500 feet. The observer described it as small, sharply defined, and white or yellowish in color. Although the report classified the case as a balloon sighting, the observer was not convinced. A hired physicist thought he saw a small cloud, but the report expressed doubt about this explanation.
The sighting lasted between 10 and 15 minutes, and the object displayed unusual behavior: it hovered, changed direction, and vanished suddenly. Despite no photos or physical evidence being collected, the case was filed as a balloon due to a coinciding launch in the area. However, the detailed description and the observer's reaction suggest it could have been something more unusual.
