🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In June 1953, two U.S. Air Force officers reported a white half-moon shaped object seen for two hours in Tillamook, Oregon. The object was observed through a theodolite and remained stationary in the sky without showing signs of propulsion. Despite the long observation period, no unusual movements or disappearance were recorded. Weather conditions and high winds suggested it was not a conventional object.
After evaluation by astronomers from Project Blue Book, it was concluded that the object was Venus, visible during the day under ideal conditions. Although observers initially dismissed the lunar possibility, the scientific explanation aligned with astronomical data. This case highlights how natural phenomena can be mistaken for unidentified objects, especially when viewed from unusual angles or under specific weather conditions.
