🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In June 1953, a white glowing object was observed in the sky above Annapolis and Washington D.C. Witnesses described it as a large ball that swayed slightly, rising slowly. Some believed it could be a weather balloon due to its irregular movement and apparent slowness. One observer watched it for nearly an hour, noting it left a vapor-like trail. Although a balloon was considered likely, its speed didn't fully match expectations.
The sighting was reported by a hotel owner and confirmed by an Air Force officer. Despite no photos or physical evidence being collected, multiple witnesses agreed on the description. In the end, it was concluded to be a balloon, though with some doubts about its behavior.
