🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In July 1953, a pilot and a civilian in Stillwater, Oklahoma, observed two luminous objects moving irregularly in the sky. The witnesses, experienced in aerial observation, thought they might be searchlight beams reflected off clouds. The objects were one above the other and moved within a 10-degree arc, without emitting sound or being detected by radar. Despite the clear sky and visible stars behind them, the objects did not show excessive brightness. The observation lasted about 2½ minutes and the objects were still visible when the witnesses left the scene.
The investigation concluded there was no physical or photographic evidence, and the most likely explanation was that they were searchlights. However, the irregular movements and lack of radar confirmation left questions about the exact identity of the objects. This case, like many from the era, reflects the uncertainty and mystery surrounding UFO sightings in the 1950s.
