Summary

A rancher in Sheridan, Wyoming, reported in July 1953 having seen an object that passed very quickly overhead. The object made a swishing sound and disappeared in an instant. Although no photos were taken and no physical evidence was found, the observer described the object moving from northwest to southeast. The Lowry Air Base received the report and considered the possibility of a meteor. A questionnaire was sent to gather more details, but the observer's name was redacted. The weather conditions included scattered clouds at different altitudes, making a clear identification difficult.

The case was analyzed by Project Blue Book, which sought conventional explanations. Despite the investigations, no definite cause was found. The responsible officer, Lieutenant Olsson, coordinated with various units to obtain more information. Although the possibility of a weather balloon was considered, no records of launches in the area were found. In the end, the case was classified as unsolved, adding another mystery to the UFO files of that era.
