Summary

In August 1953, an air traffic controller in Amarillo, Texas, observed several unidentified flying objects performing maneuvers impossible for aircraft of the time. The objects appeared as translucent balloons, stopped abruptly, and accelerated at incredible speeds. Two objects were seen simultaneously, stopping and disappearing within seconds. Despite no photos or physical evidence being taken, witnesses agreed they were not balloons or conventional aircraft. The Amarillo Air Force Base submitted a detailed report, concluding the objects were "unidentified".

The observation lasted around 45 minutes with interruptions, and the objects moved near the sun, appearing and disappearing without a trace. The official report, written by an intelligence officer, noted that the objects showed no shape changes and emitted no smoke or vapor trails. Although altitude and size could not be determined, witnesses agreed their behavior was unusual and did not match any known object in the area.
