🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A declassified 1953 report describes a UFO sighting near an air base in California. A USAF pilot reported seeing an oval-shaped, gray object making four close passes near his aircraft. Although the possibility of a conventional aircraft was considered, observers concluded it was unlikely, as a regular plane would have been identified in four separate daylight passes. The object showed no signs of fire or typical aircraft maneuvers, increasing uncertainty about its nature.
The report, initially classified as confidential, notes that the object left no light trail except when approaching the aircraft. In one observation, it appeared to split vertically, suggesting it might have been two objects in formation. Despite the pilot having over two thousand flight hours and ruling out an oxygen blister, the report reached no definitive conclusion. This case exemplifies how, even with detailed observations, unidentified aerial phenomena remain a mystery to aviation authorities.
