Summary

In August 1953, a witness in Falls Church, Virginia, observed a glowing object that appeared as a bright point in the sky. The object showed no aerodynamic features and left no trail, moving at a surprisingly high speed, possibly exceeding conventional aircraft and even jets. Its trajectory was straight and parallel to the horizon, drawing the attention of the observer, who watched it for about 15 seconds before it disappeared behind a cloud. Although no photos or physical evidence were recorded, the report concluded the phenomenon was "actuational," meaning it could not be explained by conventional means.

The testimony, though anonymous, was considered sincere, and no conventional aircraft or weather explanation was found. However, the speed and lack of typical noise or emissions left the case unexplained. These kinds of reports, common at the time, remain key to understanding how unexplained phenomena were addressed in the 1950s.
