🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In September 1953, a witness in Silver Springs, Maryland, reported a bright blue object moving across the sky. They described an elliptical shape, similar to the flame of a lit match, and observed it for about 10 seconds. The object was traveling southwest and was classified as a bolide, suggesting it could have been a meteor. Although no photos were taken and no physical evidence was found, two independent observers confirmed the same description, adding credibility to the sighting.
The U.S. Air Force evaluated the case and concluded it was of astronomical nature. However, the detailed testimony and precise description of the object generated some curiosity. The official report mentions that no sound was heard and the object was not identified as an aircraft or a common meteorological phenomenon. Despite being classified as astronomical, the case remains interesting to UFO researchers due to its clarity and the consistency of the testimonies.
