🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In October 1953, the skies over Long Beach, California, witnessed an intriguing phenomenon. According to a report from the time, two round, clear, and slightly transparent objects appeared in the sky. These objects moved from an observation point, six miles south, returned to the observers' location, and then disappeared over the ocean to the west. The report, though incomplete, mentions that the local sheriff's office received multiple reports of the event, but the official questionnaire was not returned, making a deeper evaluation difficult.
The description of the objects as "round plates" or "flying saucers" with a twelve-foot diameter fits the typical descriptions of the era. The observer saw the objects for three minutes, suggesting a visible but brief phenomenon. Despite the lack of photographic evidence or additional testimonies, the fact that multiple people reported the same event and the local police were involved adds a touch of credibility to the account. Although no clear conclusion was reached, the case remains an interesting example of UFO reports from the 1950s.
