🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In October 1953, a witness in Waterville, Maine, spotted a round white or metallic object moving smoothly in a northeasterly direction. The observer, a 51-year-old photographer with experience as a spotter during World War II, described the object as resembling a tennis ball with a faint haze around it. The object remained visible for five minutes before disappearing. Despite the detailed account, investigators concluded it could have been an aircraft, though they couldn't confirm due to the delayed report.
The report notes slightly hazy weather conditions, with blue skies and scattered clouds. There were no photos or physical evidence, which limited analysis. The case was classified and destroyed under military directives, but its file has since been recovered for current study. Although the object wasn't identified, the observer's testimony and the description of the phenomenon remain intriguing for UFO researchers.
