🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In November 1953, a witness in New York observed six unidentified flying objects over Idlewild Airport. The report details how the objects, described as gray and resembling blimps, remained in formation for 15 minutes. The witness, with naval observation experience, noted no exhaust or sound, adding to the mystery. Another passenger mistook them for chemical smoke from skywriting aircraft.
The official investigation concluded the objects could be clouds or contrails, though no unusual sightings were recorded at the airport. Meteorologists and air traffic controllers confirmed normal weather and typical air traffic. Despite the lack of physical or photographic evidence, the case was closed without resolution, leaving questions about what was truly seen that night.
