Summary

In December 1953, several engineers from Lockheed Aircraft Corporation reported an unidentified object in the sky. During a flight test, they observed an object that initially resembled a B-36 aircraft but soon revealed itself as an oval, black, wingless shape that remained stationary for several minutes before disappearing rapidly. The sighting was corroborated by a ground witness who also saw the same object from his ranch. The coincidence of the accounts and the inability to explain it as a weather phenomenon surprised the engineers, who were typically skeptical of unexplained phenomena.

The internal Lockheed report was sent to the Air Technical Intelligence Center, where it was considered potentially valuable for scientific study. Although the object was concluded to possibly be a lenticular cloud, the details of the testimony and the precision of the observers suggest it could have been something else. The fact that multiple experienced engineers and a ground witness described the same event with consistency adds an intriguing aspect to this case, which remains unresolved.
