🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In January 1954, Melbourne witnessed multiple sightings of unidentified aerial objects. A detailed report describes a metallic mushroom-shaped object flying below minimum safety altitude, four times larger than a DC-4. Another witness described a similar object with green lights and a bright metal band. Although balloon or aircraft explanations were considered, the data was inconsistent. Testimonies agree on a mysterious object that rapidly ascended and disappeared into the sky.
One witness, an electrician, saw a silver square object that vertically ascended at great speed. Despite multiple reports, the lack of photographic evidence and precise data hindered conclusions. Declassified decades later, the files show how Australian and U.S. air authorities investigated these cases without reaching a definitive explanation.
