🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In January 1954, a civilian in Naperville, Illinois, observed an aerial phenomenon that drew attention due to its speed and maneuverability. The report details that the object was seen for five minutes, with lights that moved and made a turn toward the east. Its speed was estimated between 600 and 700 miles per hour, an exceptionally high rate for the time. Although other possibilities such as balloons or astronomical events were initially considered, the official conclusion leaned toward an aircraft as the most plausible explanation. However, no photographs or additional data confirmed this interpretation.
The report was processed by Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, which evaluated the available information. It was noted that the object displayed typical aircraft features, such as rows of lights and maneuvering capability. Despite this, no contradictory information invalidated the aircraft hypothesis. The case does not include a complete report, leaving the object's identity uncertain. This document reflects the approach of the time in UFO investigations, where technical evaluation was prioritized over speculation.
