🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In February 1954, a witness in Van Nuys, California, observed two luminous objects moving at high speed. The report describes how one of them approached, circled the area, and disappeared toward the east. The witness, a former Air Force pilot, estimated that one of the objects was traveling at around 1000 mph and had a diameter of between 30 and 50 feet. The object had a reddish center and an electric-blue halo that flickered. The witness and his family observed the phenomenon for at least three minutes, without hearing any sound.
The report classified the sighting as probably an aircraft, although the witness could not identify the object with anything known. The Air Force took no further action but filed the case for future investigation. The testimony stands out for the observer's experience and the detailed description of a phenomenon that did not fit conventional categories.
