Summary

In February 1954, two employees of Grumman Aircraft Corporation observed two bright objects over Long Island, New York. The objects, yellow in color and about 3 feet in diameter, appeared at around 4,000 feet and remained visible for 40 to 60 seconds. They made no sound and left no trail, puzzling the witnesses. Another employee reported a similar sighting 20 minutes earlier, though he didn't mention it until later. The official classification concluded there was insufficient data to evaluate the phenomenon.

The weather in the area was broken clouds at 8,000 feet with 8 miles visibility. Despite the presence of other aircraft, the nature of the objects remained unidentified. Declassified decades later, the report still offers no conclusive explanation, keeping the mystery of this double sighting alive.
