🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In May 1954, a civilian in Schuyerville, New York, reported the observation of an oval-shaped object with red, white, and blue-green colors. The object was seen three times over approximately an hour, and although it appeared the size of a grapefruit, its exact altitude could not be determined. The report concluded that the object was astronomical, identifying it as Jupiter, which was in the reported position at the time. Planes were vectored to the area, but no sightings were made.
The report notes that the object moved very slowly westward and disappeared behind a cloud layer at around 3000 feet. Despite observers using binoculars, no sounds or physical evidence were recorded. The report also mentions that another similar object was identified as a weather balloon, suggesting it might have been a misinterpreted natural phenomenon. However, the detailed description and multiple sightings raise curiosity about what was actually observed that day.
