🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In June 1954, a pilot reported a milky white object in the sky over Boston, Massachusetts. The sighting occurred at a very high altitude and lasted between 5 and 8 minutes. Several ground observers also saw it using binoculars, adding credibility to the account. Although no photos were taken, the pilot was convinced it was a balloon. That same morning, Grenier Air Force Base had launched a balloon at 04:30, suggesting a possible connection. However, the pilot noted that if the balloon had followed its normal trajectory, it should have been northeast of where it was observed, which caused some confusion.
The report includes details about weather conditions, such as a clear sky and warm temperature, and mentions that other Logan Airport employees confirmed the object's presence. Despite initial doubts, the official conclusion pointed to the object being likely a balloon. This case reflects the complexity of unidentified aerial sightings, where physical evidence is scarce and interpretations vary based on testimonies.
