In July 1954, military and civilian personnel at Lowry AFB, Colorado, reported observing several bright objects hovering in the air for 35 minutes. Witnesses, including officers and air dispatchers, described between 4 and 7 luminous points moving slowly northeast. Initially thought to be cluster balloons, the lack of photographs or additional data made it difficult to reach a definitive conclusion. Observers noted the unusual ability of the objects to remain stationary in the air for extended periods, a behavior inconsistent with any known aircraft at the time.
