🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In July 1954, a Brooklyn resident reported seeing an unidentified flying object. The report, though incomplete, noted that the observer believed they had seen something unusual in the sky. The lack of precise data such as time, duration, or number of objects made official evaluation difficult. Despite this, the case was recorded by Project 10073, a government initiative collecting information on unexplained aerial sightings.
Years later, in 1959, a citizen named Max Kornberg wrote to the military and Dr. J. Allen Hynek, director of the Astrophysical Observatory, to share his concerns about UFOs. Kornberg, a self-taught individual with limited formal education, presented three "riddles" related to sightings and space technology. Although his theories were speculative, they reflected growing public concern about the nature of these objects. The military responded that there was no conclusive evidence that UFOs posed a threat, but acknowledged the legitimate interest in investigating these phenomena.
