In July 1954, around 300 people in Atlantic City, New Jersey, reported seeing a shiny, round object hovering in the sky for several hours. The object showed no significant movement or performance features, which led to confusion about its nature. A later analysis revealed that an experimental balloon had been launched near Manchester, New Hampshire, a few days before the sighting.
