🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In July 1954, an officer at Sampson AFB, New York, reported a luminous object that appeared like a star. The sighting was brief, lasting only a few seconds, and the object had a reddish hue. It was described as round and similar in size to other visible stars. The observer did not detect any sound or additional details, and the object disappeared behind the clouds. Due to the lack of clear information, authorities concluded there was insufficient data to evaluate the nature of the object. The location and direction could not be determined with precision, complicating any further analysis.
The description of the phenomenon was officially recorded in an Air Force form, including details such as time, location, and the limitations of the sighting. Although several possibilities, such as balloons, aircraft, or astronomical phenomena, were considered, none fully matched the observation. The report was sent to multiple air intelligence units for review, but no definitive conclusion was reached. This case is an example of how UFO reports often remain unresolved due to the lack of concrete data.
