UFO sighted over Sweden in 1959

Summary

In January 1959, eight people in Stigsjö, in northern Sweden, reported seeing an unidentified flying object. The object, described as round with a diameter of 6 to 8 meters, approached slowly from the south over Lake Leangsjoen at a height of about 300 meters. It had a luminous ring approximately two meters wide and emitted a reddish yellow light from its underside. The phenomenon was visible for about three minutes. The incident was reported to military authorities, indicating official interest. Although multiple witnesses were involved, no images or recordings have been found to support the description.
