🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In August and September 1954, a witness in Inglis, Florida, reported observing a bright red object hovering in the sky. The object, the size of a human head, was seen for 15 minutes around 5:25 AM. This phenomenon occurred several times over the past few weeks, usually between 8 and 11 AM. Although no photos were taken and no physical evidence was found, investigators concluded that the culprit was likely the planet Mars, which was visible in the sky at that time.
The sighting occurred near the mouth of a river, about 15 miles south-west of a Florida power plant. Despite multiple witnesses, including employees of the energy company, the nature of the object could not be confirmed with certainty. The weather was calm and slightly foggy, making clear observation difficult. In the end, the report was filed without further action, and it was considered that there was not enough information for a definitive evaluation.
