UFO seen by firefighters in the Netherlands in 1954

Summary

In August 1954, a group of ten firefighters in the Netherlands observed two flying objects moving at incredible speed. The witnesses described flat, oval shapes with a whitish gray glow that, at times, remained motionless for up to 30 seconds. The sighting occurred between 20:00 and 24:00 on August 4. Although the objects appeared to move unpredictably, no photographs or additional data were recorded.

The official ATIC evaluation considered the possibility that the objects were searchlight beams, but no definitive conclusion was reached due to insufficient information. This case, like many others from the era, reflects the confusion and uncertainty surrounding UFO sightings in the 1950s.
