In August 1954, a policeman in Homerville, Georgia, observed a mysterious object during the night. The object was round, small, with blue sparks, and moving northeast while bobbing up and down. It remained visible for 10 minutes at a 45-degree elevation. Although no photos were taken, the report concluded it was likely a balloon.
