UFO seen over Sweden in 1959

Summary

In January 1959, eight people observed an unidentified flying object near Härnösand, in northern Sweden. The object, described as a disc 6 to 8 meters in diameter, approached slowly from the south over a lake at about 300 meters altitude. It had a luminous ring about two meters wide and emitted a reddish yellow light from its underside. The phenomenon lasted around three minutes and was reported to military authorities.

Although unresolved, the case was considered serious enough to be documented by local media and reported to the armed forces. The witnesses were described as "reliable," adding credibility to the account. Despite efforts to identify the object, no conventional explanation was found, leaving open the possibility of an unexplained phenomenon or a classic UFO case.
