🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In August 1954, at Maxwell Air Force Base in Alabama, a sighting was recorded of a luminous object that changed color and disappeared. An observer described it as the size of a baseball, with a white glow turning red, orange, and black before fading. Military helicopters were deployed to identify it, but could not get close enough. The observation lasted 35 minutes and was made both from the ground and the air.
Astronomical data matched the position of Mars, and investigators concluded the object was likely the red planet. Despite initial confusion, witnesses agreed it was not an artificial object. The detailed report includes testimonies from tower operators, pilots, and civilian observers, all with a consistent description of the phenomenon. This case is a classic example of how celestial objects can be misinterpreted as unexplained phenomena.
