🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In August 1954, a witness in Point Pleasant, New Jersey, observed a silver object about 150 feet long moving at high speed from north to south. The object was described as a straight line, with a flawless flight across a 25-degree arc. Despite its apparent speed, which exceeded that of contemporary jet aircraft, the report concluded it was likely a meteor. The witness did not take photos, but described in detail the movement and appearance of the object.
The report, classified under Project 10073, was evaluated by several Air Force units, including the Air Technical Intelligence Center. Although other possibilities, such as balloons or aircraft, were considered, the most plausible explanation was an astronomical phenomenon. The testimony, brief but clear, did not include strange or unexplained elements, leading investigators to rule out the possibility of an unidentified object of unknown origin.
