🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A Dutch airline pilot reported seeing a group of dark, lenticular-shaped objects near Greenland in 1954. The sighting occurred on August 29 at 14:05, when the pilot and another crew member observed between three and four objects flying in formation. The objects were approximately 20-30 miles away, without leaving contrails or making noise. The pilot described the objects as large and dark, with an estimated size of one to one and a half feet on the windshield from his seated position. There were no attempts at interception or contact with air traffic control systems. The observers could not identify the nature of the objects, and the report concluded they were unidentified.
The case was recorded under Project 10073, an investigation program for unidentified aerial phenomena. Although several explanations, such as balloons, aircraft, or astronomical events, were considered, none fully matched the observations. The report details that the objects changed positions within the formation and that the sighting lasted around 10 minutes. Despite multiple reviews and analyses, the objects could not be identified, making this one of the most intriguing UFO cases in history.
