🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A round, silver object with a smoke trail was observed in Washington D.C. in 1954. The witness, a government employee, saw it for 4-5 seconds at dusk. The object traced an arc of 40-50 degrees, turned at 5000 feet, and vanished. A control tower operator reported a vapor trail to the west 15 minutes earlier. Investigators concluded it was a meteor, though the detailed description and trajectory sparked some curiosity.
