🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In September 1951, an observer in Las Vegas, Nevada, reported seeing an object with a rounded nose and a pointed tail. The object was described as black with flashes of orange, no visible features or trail, and an orange flame at the rear. The sighting lasted less than a minute and occurred in an area covered with clouds and thunderstorms.
Military authorities considered several possibilities, including a balloon, aircraft, or astronomical phenomenon, but no definitive conclusion was reached. The report, part of Project 10073, reflects the typical uncertainty of many UFO cases from that era, where weather conditions and lack of clear evidence made an accurate assessment difficult.
