UFO discovered in Indiana, 1954

Summary

In September 1954, a cigar-shaped object was found in Hamlet, Indiana. It measured about 5 feet long and 6 inches in diameter, made of aluminum and steel, and contained radio equipment. A local civilian, Mr. Hall, discovered it and turned it over to authorities. Investigations by the OSI and FBI revealed it was a hoax. The object was fabricated by a local resident and placed on a golf course to create confusion. Although initially considered an intriguing case, the report concluded there was no evidence of an unexplained phenomenon.
