🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In September 1954, two amateur astronomers in Ionia, Michigan, observed three bright objects crossing the sky at high speed and altitude. Without radar or physical evidence, the description was purely visual. Air defense officials reported no contact with the objects, adding to the mystery. Although no photos were taken and no physical evidence found, the witnesses emphasized the speed and brightness of the objects.
The information came from a newspaper clipping sent to a naval intelligence officer, who forwarded it without personally knowing the observers. The official report concluded with "insufficient data for evaluation," but did not dismiss the sighting. Like many cases of the time, it reflected the uncertainty and curiosity surrounding unidentified flying objects.
