In September 1954, a civilian in Marshfield, Missouri, witnessed an unusual aerial phenomenon that was later documented in a declassified report. The object, described as boomerang-shaped with uneven wings, moved silently and emitted a dark brown light with two black stripes. Its behavior was peculiar: it rose and fell with slow, oscillating movements, releasing a white smoke cloud before disappearing into a wooded area.
